China’s Belt and Road initiative is what’s top of mind for most everyone in Beijing this week. Thirty-seven heads of state are in the Chinese capital for a forum on Xi Jinping’s grand plan to build infrastructure across Asia and Europe. There's plenty to talk about. The U.S. has accused the initiative of being a ploy to expand Chinese influence and some partner countries, such as Malaysia, have complained about the cost of projects. This week's event is an ideal venue for China to address those concerns.
